A world once again wracked by conflict

Meteor, the great crisis, has already befallen the planet and thanks to the selfless acts of a band of heroes, the world was not destroyed...only changed. There came a tentative peace and in the years that followed, humans learned to live in harmony with the planet instead of merely using it to fulfill their own selfish desires.

There was balance...but all things change.

Another madman has emerged, the leader of the Eastern continent, Sierra Hisama, has stumbled upon the ultimate source of power, Materia. Ruthless and desperate for power, he begins to harvest the incredible substance, shaping it into armor and weapons to further his goals of world domination. He might have gone unchallenged but for a small band of mercenaries who stumble upon a victim of what can only be Materia poisoning. Eventually discovering the truth behind Sierra's sudden rise to power and apparent madness, they decide to accept a very special contract. Assassinate Sierra.

...and then it all went to hell...

After failing their mission, the mercenaries find themselves hunted on two continents and Sierra's forces are spreading. A simple assignment has left them locked in another battle for the fate of their world. In this RPG familiar and unexpected characters from the world of Final Fantasy VII collide with new faces. Life and death are decided by the cold gleam of swords and the mystic powers of the ancients as the mercenaries face the demons of their pasts while turning hopeful eyes to the future. Together, they struggle to bring peace to their world even as they arise from the ashes of their former lives to protect their planet...and each other. If they can escape the shadows within them and fulfill their destinies, they will become the saviors of their world. No longer agents of darkness but never truly belonging to the purity of the light, they must find their path as the Shadows of the Light.
